Susan joined Ceres in 2012 as the organization’s first Chief Development Officer. In this capacity, she oversees development and communications and marketing activities, including individual giving, foundation and corporate grants, and government funding.Â
Prior to joining Ceres, Susan served as Chief Development Officer at Partners In Health. Through various positions within PIH during her eight-year tenure, Susan helped the organization grow from $14 million to nearly $100 million in annual revenue.Â
Before PIH, Susan worked at Pathfinder International in foundation relations and was also a lecturer in the History Department at Harvard University, teaching courses on early U.S. History and the American South. Susan holds a bachelor's degree in history and psychology from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. in American history from Harvard University. In her free time, beyond spending time with her husband and three young children, Susan is an avid tennis player.Â
