Climate transition plans are intended to act as accountability mechanisms for companies and their external stakeholders, and they can provide a critical pathway for ensuring that companies are reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with what is needed to achieve the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.
