David has more than three decades of experience in the start-up and development of nonprofit initiatives. David came to Ceres in 2006, and he oversees institutional development, providing a substantial portion of Ceres’ revenue.
Before Ceres, David directed development efforts for smaller nonprofit organizations, and for several years, provided consulting services to nonprofit enterprises, during which time he served as adjunct faculty for a leadership development fellowship for the environmental movement in Israel.
In 1989, he co-founded Golubka, the first leadership training organization for the emerging not-for-profit sector in the former Soviet Union, after playing a leading role organizing medical student involvement in the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War when it was awarded the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize. As a college student, he worked as the personal assistant of David Brower, one of the founders of the modern environmental movement.
David has a medical doctorate from Harvard Medical School and a bachelor's degree in physics from Stanford University.
