As manager of the clean steel campaign, Stephanie works with the climate and energy, policy and investor teams to mobilize investors and policymakers to encourage steelmakers to invest in the clean technology required to reduce emissions in line with a 1.5 degree C future. She also works with Ceres’ investor members to develop strategies for reducing steel asset risk in their own portfolios and coordinates engagement with other important players such as the banking industry.
Stephanie has extensive international work experience in strengthening corporate performance through the lens of sustainability. During her ten years overseas with business leadership organizations, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Geneva and the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) in Rio de Janeiro, she had the privilege of working with leaders from a wide array of sectors to help transform the way in which business operates.
She convened projects in over twenty countries, and she worked with over 150 multinational companies on enhancing their relationships with the communities in which they operate. This was done, to a large extent, through increased dialogue and partnership with governmental and non-governmental agencies. She also led targeted forums to advance regulatory policies that concurrently consider economic and environmental goals.
Later, she launched a successful consulting company, Connectivity Consulting, where she worked directly with individual clients such as Caterpillar Inc., BP Biofuels Africa and the Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) on sustainability related strategies and projects.
Currently, she sits of the Board of the Jocotoco Conservation Foundation, USA.
She has a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, Tufts University where she was a Henry R. Luce Fellow. She has a Bachelor of Arts in French with a Minor in Business Administration from Loyola College in Maryland.
She lives in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA.
