Dan launched Ceres' Clean Steel program, part of the Ambition 2030 initiative, to help investors reduce the carbon risk of portfolio steel companies. Since its inception in 2019, 80% of America’s domestic steel industry has adopted aggressive targets to curb greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, investing billions in more carbon-efficient plants and clean energy sources.Â
Since joining Ceres in 2016, Dan has enabled dozens of leading companies—from General Electric to Albermarle and Lowes—to curb GHG emissions.  Â
Dan speaks frequently before investor and industry audiences on heavy industrial decarbonization and clean energy solutions. He holds degrees from the University of Chicago and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. Dan also serves on the board of ResponsibleSteel, a voluntary sustainability standard serving the global steel industry.Â
