Monica manages project contracts performed by external consultants, sub-contractors and partner organizations related to advancing work on Accelerator initiatives. In addition, Monica leads on internal research work related to the financial regulator scorecard on climate change action and modernizing the Community Reinvestment Act to consider climate resilience, environmental justice, and racial justice. Monica joined Ceres in August 2020 as a Senior Associate for the Ceres Accelerator.Â
Prior to Ceres, Monica served as the Communications and Research Specialist for the Global Development and Environment Institute at Tufts University, where she oversaw all of the institute’s outreach activities and conducted research on social and environmental equity issues. She also previously supported the CEO and Executive Leadership team at Root Capital.
Monica holds a Bachelor’s in International Affairs and Communications from Stonehill College and a Masters of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. During graduate school, Monica worked in a variety of roles focusing on labor rights issues and corporate social responsibility including, as a Human Rights and Equitable Workplaces intern for Ceres’ Company Network team, as a Graduate Research Consultant focusing on labor rights in supply chains for Verité, and while going abroad to intern for a corporate social responsibility business association in Lisbon, Portugal. Monica speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
