Mel manages Ceres' state policy advocacy across the United States, engaging the business community in collective calls for action to create a clean and equitable economy. Since joining Ceres' policy program in 2019, Mel has lead Ceres' policy engagement in the Midwest and Southeast and helped launch the Freedom to Invest campaign.
Prior to joining the Ceres policy team, Mel was the Executive Associate to Ceres' CEO Mindy Lubber and steward to the Ceres Board of Directors.
Mel earned a Master of Studies in Environmental, Natural Resource, and Energy Law from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont.
