Mel manages Ceres' policy advocacy in the Southeast region of the United States, amplifying business community calls for a clean, decarbonized economy. Mel also contributes to statewide research and advocacy campaigns regarding renewables, energy efficiency, and clean transportation. She is a former lead of Ceres' policy advocacy in the Midwest.
Prior to joining the Ceres policy team, Mel was the Executive Associate to Ceres' CEO Mindy Lubber and steward to the Ceres Board of Directors. Mel also worked as a program assistant at the MIT Venture Mentoring Service, a coaching program for emerging entrepreneurs in the MIT community.
Mel is earning a Master's in Environment, Natural Resource, and Energy Policy from the Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont.
