Margaret engages with Ceres Company Network members to advocate for the integration of sustainable business practices into their core business structure and day-to-day decision making. Her work focuses on companies in the retail and footwear and apparel sectors.
Previously, Margaret worked on the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets, where she supported Ceres work on engaging with corporate boards, investors, and key governance partners to integrate material sustainability risks and opportunities into board decision making, drive strong long-term financial performance, and increase corporations' competitive advantage. Margaret also supported the team's work in promoting responsible corporate climate policy engagement to drive alignment between corporate commitments, lobbying activities and the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.Â
Margaret joined Ceres in September 2018 after graduating from Elon University. There she received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with minors in Business and Economics. She previously interned for Sierra Club’s Electric Vehicles Initiative, where she tracked statewide plans for use of funds from the Volkswagen settlement. She also completed an internship at Food and Water Watch, where she supported a campaign to ban fracking on public lands.
