Loren is a Senior Advisor at the Sierra Club, having previously served as President, Interim Executive Director, and Treasurer, as well as Chair of the Sierra Club Foundation Board and Investment Committee. She has worked on community development and sustainability at the local, national and international levels. This included serving as an advisor to a coalition of foundations, financial institutions and HUD (Living Cities) as they mobilized resources and support for green jobs, transportation-oriented development and healthy, sustainable affordable housing. As Program Director with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation she helped leverage public and private resources and technical assistance to revitalize local communities. She also worked on international environment and development negotiations with the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service and the Quaker UN Office and published a book chapter on the key role of civil society. Loren serves on the boards of ioby, More Perfect Union and Rachel's Action Network and the advisory councils of Ceres and Clean Energy for America. She is also an active member of Confluence Philanthropy and the Clean Tech Leaders Roundtable. Loren holds a Masters degree from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelors from Oberlin College.
