Laura drives efforts with institutional investors to address deforestation and conversion of natural ecosystems in their portfolios. She also supports Ceres’ engagement work with companies on other topics including the climate risks facing the food and agriculture sector. Her coverage areas include initiatives to eliminate deforestation, reduce GHG emissions, restore land, and preserve biodiversity across corporate value chains. She works with Ceres’ stakeholders to help investors achieve strategic goals related to climate change, net zero, and sustainable land management. Laura is a passionate sustainability and social impact professional with experience across multiple sectors. She believes in implementing a systems-thinking approach to enable scalable outcomes and meaningful impact. Â
Prior to joining Ceres, Laura worked at Ecofin in their Investor Relations and ESG department. She monitored and addressed ESG risks within investment mandates and analyzed complex issues related to global supply chains, including the potential impacts of climate-related supply chain risks on portfolio performance. She also developed the firm’s thought leadership efforts, sustainability strategy, and impact reporting initiatives. Laura holds a Master’s degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University’s Earth Institute and Climate School, a Graduate Degree in Law from the University of Westminster, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Boston University.Â
