Eric Pitt is an experienced capital markets and technology leader with a deep interest in addressing climate change. He is the Chief Commercial Officer for Emergent, where he oversees distribution, trading, and capital markets. Emergent is an NGO that works with tropical forest countries and the private sector to arrange large-scale transactions of high-integrity carbon credits at the jurisdictional level. Eric also serves as an advisor to several companies and investment funds focused on climate and markets. Previously, Eric was a consultant for Ceres, advocating for climate-aligned, pro-growth financial policies.
Eric spent 15 years as a Managing Director in the fixed income markets at JP Morgan, where he managed a team of principal market makers in corporate bonds and credit derivatives. His team provided liquidity to investors around the world, and he was responsible for risk, technology, and a team of traders, analysts, and structurers. Prior to JP Morgan, Eric worked in software for nine years. First at Kenan Systems, an MIT startup, and then at TenFold, a San Francisco based company founded by ex-Oracle executives that grew from 20 to 1000 people during his tenure.
Eric graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Physics and has an MBA from Columbia University. He serves on the boards of the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative and the Babies Heart Fund. Eric lives in Brooklyn, NY with his family and enjoys music, racket sports, and the great outdoors.
