Madelyn is the second Ryan Martel Fellow, continuing the critical work of fostering a strong and sustainable clean economy. As the transportation champion on Ceres' federal policy team, she tracks legislative priorities, drafts advocacy materials, and builds relationships with Capitol Hill and advocacy partners to inform practical ZEV adoption pathways, optimize charging infrastructure, and refine domestic critical minerals mining and emerging circular economies within the clean vehicle industry.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a specialization in journalism and digital media from the University of Tennessee. Madelyn is trained in UNESCO Future Literacy and was part of the first cohort of DOE’s Clean Cities Energy & Environmental Justice Initiative. Madelyn has cultivated a colorful background that spans clean energy, environmentalism, and artist spaces, and for the past five years, she has focused on examining the communication barriers to an efficient green transition. She has a passion for connective storytelling, which allows her to explore the joyful yet complex cultural narratives tied to people’s heritage and connection to travel and place. During her time as a Ryan Martel Fellow, Madelyn aims to facilitate fruitful knowledge exchanges that pave the way for a prosperous future for both people and planet.
When she’s not tinkering with sustainability challenges, Madelyn enjoys sharing her love for dance and indulging in her 2000s-2010s anime and video game nostalgia.
