Jim Coburn oversees Ceres’ efforts to improve mandatory climate and sustainability risk disclosure by corporations. He advocates for disclosure rules and voluntary frameworks that strengthen corporate risk management practices and improve investment decision-making.
Jim manages Ceres tools and reports on climate risk disclosure, including Cool Response: The SEC & Corporate Climate Change Reporting, which assessed the state of climate disclosure by businesses and recommended steps the SEC could take to improve reporting, and the SEC Sustainability Disclosure search tool. He also works with investors, companies, and stakeholders to influence global sustainability disclosure frameworks and rules.
Before joining Ceres, Jim worked for Morgan Stanley, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Green America. He holds a bachelor's degree in government from Cornell University and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
