Calli supports the team’s efforts to improve the sustainability performance of companies with regards to deforestation and conversion of natural ecosystems. She also supports Ceres' engagement with companies on other topics related to nature, land use, and climate.
Calli joined Ceres in June 2023, shortly after completing her doctoral work on palm oil supply chains, deforestation, and certification at the University of Michigan. During her studies, Calli served as program assistant for Sustainability Without Borders, managing multiple domestic and international student teams as they engineered solutions to local communities' food and water access challenges. She also worked as a research intern at the World Bank (delivering guidance on climate change resilience strategies) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (developing a technology transfer evaluation framework). In addition, Calli has experience advising clients on ESG integration from her time as a consultant at Responsible Alpha.
Calli has both a Ph.D. in Resource Policy and Behavior and M.S. in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan, as well as a B.S. in Environmental Studies and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Portland. In her free time, you can find Calli running on local trails, climbing at the nearest crag, or playing frisbee with her Australian Shepherd.
