Ava supports the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Market’s bank and financial regulation strategy, which calls on financial regulators and financial institutions to act on the climate crisis and address climate as a financial risk. Prior to this role, Ava was a Program Assistant on the Accelerator supporting the Managing Director and the initiatives of the Accelerator.
Before Ceres, Ava was the Communications Fellow at Faithful Footprints, a nonprofit that supports congregations and organizations throughout Canada to reduce their carbon footprint through inspiration, tools, and grants. Her other experiences include internships at the Parliament of World’s Religions Climate Action Task Force, Lutheran Community Services, and the Shepherd’s Garden, a community garden. These experiences have allowed Ava to see the direct impact of nonprofits both at the grassroots level and at the larger international scale.
Ava graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Religious Studies.
