Environmental and climate justice is finally receiving long overdue attention and action within our society — and at Ceres, too. Prioritizing environmental and climate justice in natural resources, energy, and climate policy requires us all to have a more nuanced and human-centered approach to pollution reduction and electrification. It requires us to identify and confront environmental racism in all forms and prioritize the immediate needs of people of color and disadvantaged communities.
The Environmental and Climate Justice Policy Working Group is a learning space that brings together companies that recognize the importance of incorporating racial and social justice into climate and sustainability policy. You’ll join a self-selected group of peers to learn about and discuss the environmental justice and climate justice movements, the needs of impacted communities, frontline workers and their organizations, and their varied policy positions and approaches.
The working group meets monthly to hear from policy advocates, organizers, and scholars on the environmental justice implications of various policy issues, solutions, and strategies in dedicated pursuit of a transition to a just, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable economy.
How to join
The Environmental and Climate Justice Policy Working Group is open to companies interested in advocating for policies that support energy efficiency, demand response, and building electrification.
